Metallurgy
Stork Cooperheat's metallurgical analyses are commonly used to
evaluate a variety of metal applications, including casting,
forging, fasteners, bar, plate, sheet, and more. We offer both
in-laboratory and onsite metallurgical evaluation services. Stork
Cooperheat's metallurgical staff utilizes a variety of micro and
macro examination and evaluation methods to detect, identify, and
resolve specification issues. Our metallurgical analysis services
include:
Metallurgical Analysis
Metallurgical analysis serves to evaluate the characteristics
of metals, such as the heat treatment condition, microstructure,
forming process, and compliance to specification requirements.
Working to the most demanding ASTM, ASME, AMS, and industrial
specifications, Stork Cooperheat's team of metallurgical engineers
and technicians combine the science of chemistry, their
metallurgic expertise, and their expansive knowledge of various
industries to deliver rapid, accurate metallurgical examinations,
results documentation and potential solutions to identified
problems.
Material Replication
Material Replication is a cost effective alternative to
destructive testing when wishing to analyse the condition of
material. The system is based on taking plastic replica of the
prepared surface of an item. It may be considered as
non-destructive as the preparation, which includes grinding,
polishing and etching, may not affect the integrity of the
component thus allowing further service.
Welding Engineering
Today’s welded structures, pressure vessels, and fabrications
are highly complex, requiring thorough advanced inspection and
testing procedures to obtain maximum reliability. Experienced in
all aspects of ferrous, nonferrous, polymer properties and welding
requirements, Stork Cooperheat offers a comprehensive array of
weld testing services, each designed to ensure optimal weld
quality and performance.
Welder Qualification (WPS/PQR)
Stork Cooperheat's metallurgists conduct procedure and
performance tests to demonstrate a welder’s ability to meet
requirements for ASME and AWS welding codes, and TUV/PED
requirements.
Failure Analysis
Failure analysis serves as a valuable tool in ensuring and
improving overall product quality and advanced engineering. At
Stork Cooperheat, our team of skilled failure specialists conducts
in-depth investigations and analyses to determine the root cause
of part and assembly failures and identify the means for
preventing future problems. Working quickly, thoroughly, and using
the latest analytical equipment and materials characterisation
techniques.
