Hot/Cold Tapping
Stork Cooperheat's wide range of hot tapping equipment covers
the various sizes of pipes commonly found in industry. Generally
hot taps can be carried out at pressures up to 350 psi and
temperature of 550°C. While interventions are usually performed on
operational plant, cold taps are occasionally called for. The
advantage of cold tapping being the absence of pressure and
temperature.
Hot
tapping is the ideal solution for plant modification and expansion
projects where tie-ins to existing lines can be safely made
without line isolation and unit shutdown.
As all the hot tapping machines are driven by air or hydraulic
powered motors they can be used in hazardous environments. No
tapping operation can be carried out until the pipeline fittings
have been welded or bolted to the existing line where the hot tap
is to take place. Finally the tap is usually made through a
suitable gate or ball valve that has been pressure tested prior to
the commencing of the tapping operation.
The goal is to provide the best possible service to our Client
using experienced technicians, approved procedures, tested and
proven equipment.
