Stork Cooperheat’s (UK) facility in Billingham, Teesside, is a
widely recognised heat treatment services provider, having
provided a vital, quality heat treatment service for more than 50
years to major internationally renowned companies located in the
area.
Stork Cooperheat (UK), having recognised the benefits to
fabricators of providing a ‘One Stop Shop’ available to carry out
non-destructive testing (NDT) and heat treatment services,
sanctioned a project to expand their contract furnace heat
treatment facilities in Teesside.
A new NDT gamma and X-ray bay has been built, along with the
installation of a large gas fired roller cover furnace, all under
one roof in the Billingham factory.
To support future growth, additional engineering staff were
employed, adding to and broadening the technical service base with
more than 30 years of contract heat treatment furnace operational
experience.
The Stork Cooperheat (UK) Billingham facility is the base for
a number of heat treatment technicians, experienced in all aspects
of localised electric resistance pre-heating and
post-weld heat treatment.
When necessary for large site projects, additional technicians
are available from Stork Cooperheat’s (UK) headquarters in
Southport, to supplement the Teesside workforce.
Stocks of electric contract heat treatment equipment and
consumable materials are held at the Billingham site. These stocks
of equipment are also available to hire to clients wishing to
carry out their own heat treatment operations. A repair and
maintenance service is available for clients’ own heat treatment
equipment.
The Stork Cooperheat (UK) ‘One Stop Shop’ is enhanced by the
availability of gas heat treatment technicians with extensive site
experience in vessel post-weld heat treatment and refractory
dry-outs, using high velocity combustion equipment.
